Meet Jon. He calls himself Jack. Jack-of- all-trades, master of none. And, there is no better description for him. He can do several kinds of work fairly well. As a result, he offers a wide variety of talents, gifts, and skills to the farm, to his family, and to the surrounding community. He is a pastor, musician, lyricist, data base systems operator, inventor, computer whiz, accountant, practical joker, loving father, and romantic husband. Beware! He has a library of puns ready to use at moments notice. Jon loves the Lord God with all his heart. This affects every area of his life and even led him to take his family of eight to the jungles of Central America to serve the Lord for three year and half years.
Jon is your average American. He loves baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and Chevorlet, Doritos, cherry pie, and Hondas. (If you did not live in the 70’s and don’t understand this play on words, click here for enlightenment.) Jon is a diehard Cardinals baseball fan. A bag of Doritos on his birthday makes him giddy. Cherry pie causes him sing and dance. You may find him driving a trusty well used Honda where ever he goes. In fact, the legend of the brown Honda is still told today with much affection. He reports over 330,00 miles on the odometer when he gave it away before going to Central America. The new owner tuned up the well worn car and continued to drive it till one day it could drive no more.
Jon enjoys garden fresh tomatoes in the summer and home grown green beans. Stop by the farm and you will find Jon either flirting with his wife, making the keyboard come alive, laboring away on the computer in his home office, or engaged in various farm projects. He is a tender loving leader of this farm family keeping us all focused author and perfecter of our faith.
