Teenage farmers can contribute to life and their community. But, it starts at birth.
Many parents dread the teen years.
Not me. Because, I have teenage farmers.
These young people show case their skills and finesse their work ethic by being in charge of our entire milk operation.
We now have 29 goats and one milk cow.
From day one, my children were taught they were valuable.
They make a difference. And, they can contribute to our family life as well as the lives of others.
And contribute they do. The following video shows a behind the scenes look at what they do everyday, twice a day, without fail. While most adults huddled up in the warmth of the house, these teens worked in the subzero weather milking the livestock. They stayed up late but not to party. Instead, they watching for new arrivals.
Be sure and watch this video. The footage and pictures are all done by my 13 year-old daughter. Remember when you support our small family farm, you are affirming the values and work ethic of these young people.
