Meet Zech
Zechariah is the oldest of our children living at home. He is also by far the strongest and tallest. He has a great sense of humor. If you visited our farm, you may find him working in the garden, training the puppy to herd, or maybe trying to cook a new dish. He loves to cook. Our family affectionately calls him “Chef Zech”.
Zech also loves working with the chickens. Ever since he could talk he was always talking about running a hatchery.
Speaking of when Zech was young, he made it his ambition to become one with the earth. Thankfully, he outgrew the literal translation of that concept.
With his great ability to research and remember things, he has become our resident expert on chickens and many other of our animals.
Beware of his jokes. If you are trying to keep a straight face, be sure to stay at least a hundred feet away from him. Don’t let his serious disposition catch you off guard. He can have the most serious person laughing in a moments notice when everyone is least expecting it.
Zech offers a variety of gifts and talents to this farmstead. His strength is vital when it comes to pitching hay bales, and moving portable chicken pens. He is diligent self starter who keeps working day in and day out on tasks. A working farm requires this character trait. Zech will graduate this year and plans to continue a farmstead business operation of his own. Zech may be strong and tough but he has a tender spot in his heart for critters.
